We had a garage sale this weekend. Cleared out a bunch of Emma's clothes, more stamp sets and accessories and a few household items. It's amazing what you can find when you want to clear out things from your house. I netted about $150, that will probably go to my Debt Snowball.
Still waiting for Mr. President's stimulus check. Since we paid taxes to the IRS ($15!) it should be coming in the mail, instead of our checking account.
Purchased 2 tomato plants, 3 eggplants and some herbs over the weekend. I still have to plant my gerbera daisies that I bought from Costco last week. The lawn still needs to be mowed as well. Yesterday we hit Home Depot to purchase Harry another "mantool" for the yard. The Black and Decker Grasshog trimmer joined the matching lawnmower. Harry detests doing yardwork but he is such a good sport and does take pride in it. He does whatever I need when it comes to the garden as well.
Another Costco purchase we made was a new Queen sized bed. We had gone "shopping" for it in Salem last week and comparing prices. Dave Ramsey has a technique he uses to get bigger, better deals when he shops. So we decided to test run it, without flashing of the cash. We went to 5 different stores and selected a bed we liked. Then we asked them the price and when one of us said "that's not good enough", they would try to give us a "better" price. Some salesman did, some didn't. One guy even was hostile that we wouldn't take his price! I guess he didn't want to sell us that bed. We just laughed our *** off when we left the store. The only part of the technique we didn't do is to actually flash several hundred dollars and have them in your hands when you are in the store. So next time we do another big purchase, we'll have to try it. By the way, I love our new bed. We bought it for $589 (minus our Costco 2% rebate check) which made the total purchase around $500 with bedframe --it actually retails for $1,700! It was nice and comfy last night.
Harry's sister, Trish and her family will be visiting us from Hawaii this Thursday. We have a few trips planned for them. They liked it so much when they were here last year that they came back.
Not much creating going on this week so I'll have to think up a scrapbook or stamping challenge to post later on.
