Bedtime battle of the fittest -- who will win?

Ugh, bedtime is becoming one big pain in the tush. I don't know what the deal is, but lately if the hubby is putting the kid down, she is throwing fits and refuses to do as he asks. He usually rocks her for a bit before having her climb into bed. I'm thinking it's time to take the rocking chair outta the room and go for the reading in bed and then turning off the light and saying goodnight. She doesn't seem to have too many issues when I put her to bed. But lately it has become a battle. We're not doing anything differently. Maybe she's just tuckered out when she gets home from preschool all day. I notice that she still hasn't gotten used to hubby's work schedule and last week he was late every evening. But she was a complete angel with me and didn't flip out. I'm beginning to think I'll have to be doing the bedtime ritual for awhile. I can't stand the crying and screaming bit she does with her dad...way too much drama. Ya just can't fight with a toddler before bedtime. I just leave her and she can fall asleep on her own -- she's gotta learn sometime, right? Mama ALWAYS wins.

Anyhoo (as my friend Melissa says), I actually got to scrapbook two pages. Both were Easter pages, of all things. I did one page for a photo I shot last year of Emma. And I made a page for this Easter, all ready for the photo to be taken and glued in there. I used the new Garden Party line from Making Memories (saw it at Target and couldn't resist). I was surprised at how much I liked it. Even the hubby liked it. I'll take a photo of it later and post it if I can remember.

After I made that page, I went and slipped it in Emma's scrapbook. Then started to reminisce and look at how little she was, all the cute little things she used to do and sighed. How quick they grow up. I long for the smell of a baby sometimes. Then I get the demon child in one of her rages, and think I must be frickin' crazy! Anyway, back to the scrapbook...I noticed there were a bunch of pages I didn't journal in any dates, ages, etc. and had to remind myself to go back and do it sometime soon. I have already forgotten how old she was in those photos so now I have to go back and look at the darn dates of the photos! See, this is an important tip....journal, journal, journal!! You'll soon forget and then it'll be a pain to look up the info.

Have you gathered your tax stuff yet? Or are you one of those people I hate that are all done and already received your tax return? I finally got everything together and will drop it off to the tax lady hopefully tomorrow. I DON'T DO TAXES. Haven't done them in six years and won't be doing them anytime soon. I used to do them but one year I got really ticked off and hubby said he'd do them (that was when we were still in Hawaii). When he saw how much work and time it really took to do them (read between the lines--shall I say procrastinator?), he swore that same year when we moved here we'd never do them ourselves ever again. The $100 I pay the tax lady is well worth it, I say.

In two weeks, the Creating Keepsakes convention will be in town (Portland). I haven't signed up for classes this time, but thinking I'll just go and shop and check out the LO's (layouts) and see if there are different techniques and what products are hot. Usually there's a certain style that seems to stick out from all the rest. I am looking forward to it!

By the way, if you are one of my customers, Stampin' UP! has their Sale-A-Bration going on. When you spend a mere $50, you get to select a free, limited edition stamp set that cannot be purchased! If you spend $100, you get two, and so on...take a look at my website for a better explanation. You'll find the link to my Stampin' UP! website on the right side column of this blog.
That website needs total updating; just haven't had time to upload new cards and projects in the art gallery. Someday I'll have all the time in the world....NOT!

Later!

I have to second your "Mama ALWAYS wins!" motion. Craig is pretty good about backing me up, but sometimes I think he would cave to the girl if I wasn't there with my arms crossed and "the look" on my face.

I have to admit - I am one of those "already did my taxes" types. I just wanted to get it over with. But I'm the opposite of you in that I actually like doing my own taxes (TurboTax rules, baby!) but haven't these last two years because of our darned corporation. Now that it has been dissolved, I can say adios to my accountant. Don't get me wrong - he's been great - but I hate spending $100+ for something I actually enjoying doing. Yes, I am sick.

Hey - what dates are the convention in PDX? Maybe we'll be up there and you can swing by and see the new place. If you have time, that is. I know what it's like to try and cram too many things into one trip north, so if you can't make it , no biggie. But if you can, I'd love to see you!
