Just got my hair highlighted tonight and of course it made me think of color. It is amazing how just the slightest amount of red in my hair makes me look so much better. I wasn't really into highlights in my hair until I tried it 2 years ago. I like it so much now that I have my hair highlighted very six weeks or so.
So how does color manage to creep its way into your life? I know when I scrapbook, I usually go to the same color palette...pinks, lavender, and blues. Thank goodness I have a girl; I can't imagine what pages I would come up with those colors for a BOY. They are my faves; it's hard to go out of the box and use other colors. Even when I rubber stamp those colors somehow creep in either in the cardstock I use or the ink. So time to go out of the box. If there's a color you've been using too much; pick a color that would challenge you. If you have trouble matching colors, purchase a color wheel and I swear you'll totally be able to match colors like never before. I have 2 color wheels and I swear by them.
Let's think about some journaling and photos. Okay, so take a photo of a something colored. Then for your journaling, write how that color makes you feel, what it reminds you of, is there a taste or smell associated with that color? It is tougher than you think to put it into words...try it some time!
I have had a rough week with a sick toddler. Think of the movie Exorcist and remember that projectile vomiting scene?!! Okay, maybe too visual for you. Anyway, after 3 days of that, I was SO over cleaning it up. Kid is back in preschool and seems to be healthy. So what happens after all of the no sleeping and going to work and it equals: a sick mommy. Sigh. I am SO over the cold thing. This is my 4th cold back to back, with two separate doses of antibiotics. And I can't get rid of the damn cough. That's what is such a pain. I think I'm going to cough out my lung any minute now. Back to the Dr.'s office I go on Monday, but I've got to suffer through the weekend first.
The hubby's moved departments to Business Delivery, which means a 7-4:30 pm shift, M-F. We have never had weekends off together in 12 years. It is a huge adjustment as I've switched my work schedule to 8-5 (sometimes working until 6p) and I sure miss my early shift. Even the shuttling to preschool has changed with me dropping off and him picking up the kid. It'll probably be another month before we get used to this whole new world! I feel the hubby is underfoot all the time during the weekend because usually he's never around; he's working!
Can you hear that? That's me screaming. It's time for me to sort through those papers and get the tax stuff together. I do try to make it easy on myself the first 6 months of the year and then my good intentions go out the door and receipts get piled in different places. So time to sort through the filing basket, desk, etc. Yuck. I hate tax time. Thank goodness I have a good accountant to do it for me. I DON'T DO taxes anymore and haven't done them in 6 years.
Anyway, hope your day went well and I'll try and post this weekend after I get through the deluge of paper.
