Here I sit at 1 am in the morning. I've wrapped a birthday gift that is late (again) and working on a birthday card to go with it. Thank goodness it's not going too far -- Colorado. Not feeling too creative right now, but I'm going to have to finish it before I go to bed so I can send my poor friend's present out tomorrow. I just feel way too guilty combining it with her Christmas present!
I said I was only going to do one craft fair and then I convinced myself I had to do another. Crazy girl. I ended up with about $80 total for one day, but if actually it was more like $60 once you deduct the booth fee. Sigh. What was I thinking?! Anyway, I did get a few orders for Stampin' UP! and really enjoyed talking with our hospital chaplain. He is such a cool guy and he takes awesome photos. Saw Wes again at another craft fair tonight (no, I was only shopping, I was NOT a vendor) and introduced the hubby to him and even Harry said he liked his photos. Gave Wes some photographer tips which I'm sure he appreciated ---I know I have learned a lot from the hubby and take much better photos.
Our best man/best friend and his wife in Hawaii are having a girl. We found out last week. How cool is that! I also found out our friends here became first-time grandparents and will have the second grandchild sometime next week. The coolest thing is that they have a granddaughter and soon, a grandson! All within 2 weeks of each other!
Okay, I'm losing it now. There is a potty just for kittys. It's called CatGenie. It flushes itself like a regular potty. This is what happens when you are watching late night TV. Sigh. It says you never have to "touch" cat litter ever again. I guess if I had a cat, I'd appreciate that wouldn't I? Hubby is deathly allergic to cat dander; so no indoor cat. Darn.
No thanksgiving photos this year. I FORGOT to take photos, can you believe that? So how does one scrapbook Thanksgiving without photos. Easy! Who says you HAVE to HAVE photos? You can do journaling in place of photos. Act like a reporter and ask your family that question..."what are you thankful for?" The write down all the juicy details. You can still find a photo of your subject and use that in place of "thanksgiving day" photos. Just thought you'd like a different take on a scrapbook page....!
Shopping is almost complete. I have to just purchase a couple of gift cards for the teenagers and I'm done with the Hawaii ohana and friends. Just need to get the grandparents gifts together and send those last. The hubby has promised to finish the DVD of the kid so we can send to the grandparents as their "gift".
Got our tree early (this past weekend) and it was the easiest ever. Went to Volstedt christmas tree farm and spied a very nice one. It's a Nordmann and I've never seen a tree like this before. If you flip the tree branch over, the leaves are silvery underneath and it looks similar to a Noble. Hubby said it was the easiest tree he's ever had to put up here at the house. Yeah, I forgot to tell him it was the most expensive tree we've gotten since we've been here in Oregon -- $37 for a 6 ft. tree. We usually buy a tree for about $20. (Shh..don't tell the Hawaii folks who purchase their tree for $90) But this tree was great it didn't shed needles at all when we brought it in...however it is one thirsty sucker as it keeps gulping up water like crazy. The hubby has been putting water in it twice a day. I'm too darn tired to start putting lights on it tonight. Maybe I'll do it tomorrow sometime in the midst of my shopping, baking, wrapping and shipping and distracting a toddler.
Anyway, I'm losing steam, time for some shuteye! Later!
