Ah, I can feel it....summer is almost here! Thank goodness because I am so ready for it. The weather seems to be better today, so I'm hoping to plant my veggies (yes, they are still in the pots) and get them going.
This past Sunday's Financial Peace University class was pretty funny. We usually watch the DVD lesson, break up into discussion groups and then back together to discuss some victories people have this week.
One guy said his car was dead and they didn't have a ton of money to spend. He saw that a neighbor had a junker that runs really well, but the back of the truck was smashed in and offered him $100 for it. The guy said sure. So we all laughed when he told us that there is no window in the back of the truck and that it looks so bad his pre-teenager won't go near it. Then said he was looking for names for it. One of his friends said Fumigator, he said he was thinking of naming it Dances with Wind.
Another lady 2 weeks ago lost her food cash envelope. Well, she actually just misplaced it and found it this week. Whew. It is enlightening to know that you really aren't alone and people have made the same mistakes as you have. I haven't lost the food cash envelope (yet) but I sure felt for her 2 weeks ago!
Hawaiian Airlines Mastercard sent Emma (my 4 yr old) a credit card application. Tells you how much debt is marketed to us in most ridiculous way. We think that she was sent one because she has a Hawaiian Miles membership card.
I've cut a bunch of misc. items we really don't need from our budget, but still thinking of ways to cut costs and pay off more debt. Still chipping away at our last credit card and then we'll be free of those forever. Still waiting for that darn stimulus check! We are thinking of refinancing the home loan for a better rate and doing a 15 year loan.
Art! Haven't created anything new lately but need to make a few cards today, so I'll have to pull some stamps out. Over the weekend my friend Kathwren sold about $50 of my retired stamps, so I was thrilled. I have a few more to go -- I will probably bundle it together and just sell it on Craigslist. Stampin' UP! has several specials going on, click on my website to check them out. I'm also going to start up classes again this summer, so check the calendar as well.
Feeling much better today, they put me on the inhaler (I'm hoping it's not asthma) and I finally feel like it's an improvement from what it was a week ago.
The IAAP conference was great; my Hawaii guests have gone home and things are finally getting back to our normal schedule. We have one more guest coming the beginning of July; one of my best friends and my maid of honor, Dayle. It will be her first trip here. She'll be here for about 5 days. Trying to get in gear and plan Emma's birthday party -- still need to do the invitations and decide where we're having it!
Well, have a great day and I'll hopefully post again this week.
