Hello all!
Returning from the CK Convention held in Portland this weekend! Saw tons of fun stuff and demos. The one thing I really wanted to see in action was the Cricut Expression (the newest model). I have been lusting for one but wanted to see how it worked, etc. Essentially, it's like a plotter with a knife that cuts out die cuts in any shape or font that you want, and can cut large fonts as well, of course, depending on how many wonderful cartridges one decides to purchase. The cartridges run anywhere from $55 to about $99 (ya might as well say a hundred bucks!). You get two cartridges with the machine and some misc. other stuff. It was neat to see it but I thought how often would I really use it? I'm not much of a die cut girl. But then I heard it can cut all kinds and types of paper (felt paper, chipboard, cardstock, printed paper). Hmm...! It's an investment in itself, the "show special" was $329.00; Costco has it for $349.99. I think I'll wait awhile until the price goes down.
Lots of cool printed paper. I visited my favorite booth: SEI. I got their latest line: Jolie Chocolat. Pretty pinks and cocoa colors, which is the IN colors right now. Got a few embellishments and the paper pack and came to hefty $45. Also bought a cool Tara Whitney kit from Cocoa Daisy, for about $12. So all in all, I spent less than I have ever spent in 4 years of going to CKC. I love going just to see all the new stuff and it really gets you inspired to scrapbook.
I gave in and joined Weight Watchers again. Sigh. Last time I lost 16 pounds on it, so I KNOW it works if you keep at it. I jumped on the scale on Thursday for the first time in months and almost died. I am heavier than I have ever been, and that's including when I was pregnant with the kiddo. YIKES. Momma's got some poundage to lose. I don't even want to tell you how much my 10% is as I am still in denial. It is now day 4 and I am happy to say I am adjusting better to it than I originally thought. The hubby will be on the WW program although he doesn't know it yet.
Anyway, it's a gray day out here and all I can think about is taking a nap. So off I go!
Laters!

Hey, Jo!
I'm *so* proud of you for going back to WW. I should be joining you shortly, within a week or two once we get moved up and settled in and I can figure out the closest meeting. Are you going to Ralph's meeting again? Maybe we can be motivational buddies - I know I can use all the help I can get!
Hey Melissa,
Oh, you can be my WW buddy anytime, girlfriend!
Hope the packing isn't bringing ya down. When you are at your new house, you'll have to go soak in your tub, pour a glass of wine (save your points!) and light some candles and just relax!
Or you can just spoil yourself and get a massage! LOL!
