Making Memories

What's the first thing you think about when you are getting ready for vacation? I am usually pretty nervous if I'm flying somewhere. I get pretty anxious about the whole check-in process, the security search and the airplane boarding. Kinda silly. But this time it's different -- I'm going on vacation but driving instead of flying. I love road trips. We don't take them as often as we used to because Emma was so little. Now that she is more mobile, potty trained and adaptable to change, I think we will be taking more road trips now. Hooray!

A few things I'll be packing are the video camera, two digital cameras, the tripod (for that family photo shot) and a few scrapbooking items. I also try to remember to bring a travel journal and pen so I can document our trip to match up with the photos I know I'll be taking. It sure comes in handy when I've got those photos developed and ready to scrap! I don't have to recall from memory what I did, what day we did it, etc. So nice -- as you know when you get "old" you just can't recall on your memory.

I am so looking forward to spending some time out in nature! No cell phone service, no internet (hee.hee.) and no other major distractions. I plan on spending lots of time just chillin' and taking walks with Emma, playing in the water at the lake and maybe, just maybe, get some scrapbooking done.

Anyway, this entry will be the only one this week -- I'll try and post again when I return. See you soon!
