Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Boy, I am sucking at this blog thing...I always think I'm going to have time to at least write once a week and I never seem to get around to it. Still trying though, so don't give up on me just yet.

Yes, yes, there truly is a holiday for people who scrapbook! I'm not kidding!
Today my friend Melissa and I spent a few hours together chatting and creating a cool accordian scrapbook. While chatting, I discovered that she and I had something in common. There aren' t may photos of US -- we are usually the ones wielding the camera. After Melissa left, I jumped on the CK (Creating Keepsakes) website and logged onto Ali Edwards crop and LOL when I saw one of the challenges she had posted.

Challenge number 3
Beautiful You Challenge: Create a layout that celebrates the beautiful person YOU are today – right now. All you need: (1) one photo of yourself – if you don’t have one grab your camera, take your own photo by holding your arm out in front of you or take a photo of yourself in a mirror and print at home.

For your journaling, name 3-5 reasons why you are beautiful.

Maybe you have never done anything about yourself before. Maybe it is hard for you to immediately identify what makes you beautiful. Now is your chance.

Today, do this for you. Do this for your family and your kids. Let them know why you believe that YOU are a beautiful person.

Note: Think about how many photos you have of yourself. If you are like most women, you are usually behind the camera rather than in front of it. Make sure you are in your albums and YOUR story is being told. No one can tell it better than you.

So, in honor of this wonderful holiday for scrapbookers, I am "borrowing" Ali's scrapbook challenge.

I'm going to have to try the challenge myself but I think I'll have the hubby take the photo.

Booked my flight to Hawaii and getting ready to book the car rental. Although I have tons of friends and probably could borrow a car, I thought I'd just go ahead and get the rental and save me the time. That way I won't inconvenience anyone and I can go wherever I please! This is the first trip back home by myself -- no hubby, no kids. What to do, what to do..! In case I didn't mention WHY I'm going back, it's for my 20th high school reunion. Not sure who I'll see when I get there, but I'm sure it will be an interesting weekend. I do want to be able to scrapbook and stamp with my friends, so I hope their schedules aren't too hectic! Go to the beach is also a priority. With only 4 days, I hope I can do the things I want to do!

Yippee! Sheena is graduating from college! Six more weeks and she'll be getting her associates degree in Child and Family Studies (preschool teacher!). So now she can get a job and I can get return on my investment. Does she really realize that she's got to PAY for everything herself now?! LOL!

Damn WW (Weight Watchers). I haven't been to a meeting going on 3 weeks now and thinking of just tossing the idea out the window for now. It seems my work evening meetings are getting in the way of attending the weekly WW meetings. So maybe it's time to take a break from the meetings. But I think I'll continue to watch what I eat and still do the program for a bit.

Speaking of which, the tummy is beginning to rumble. Gotta run and find something for supper. Have a great evening...
