Hauoli Makahiki Hou! (Happy New Year!)

Happy New Year!

Okay, so I neglected my blog for over a month. You know how busy it gets during the holidays so you shouldn't be too surprised!

Emma had a blast opening presents this year. She received a dollhouse, dump truck, a few dolls, a doll cradle and doll high chair from Santa. Not to mention all those gifts she received from everyone else. She kept singing "Santa Claus is Coming to Town". I told her that Santa has left and won't be back until next Christmas; but somehow it's not stopping her from singing it. Hmmm.

We spent most of the New Year eating. Yeah, you read it right. If you know anyone from Hawaii, that's all we do on New Year's IS eat. We "needed" to eat noodles, mochi, sushi, miso soup and all that other yummy stuff that Japanese folks eat for good luck! I am way too afraid to hop on the scale at my WW meeting today. Thinking of going to the gym before the meeting just so I don't feel SO GUILTY! It's a new year, so I'm thinking positive! I've got that 20th high school reunion to go to in the summer, so I better lose the weight!

Okay, now on to the creative section. I did actually work on two scrapbook projects on New Year's and am happy to say I completed one project and am close to finishing the journaling on the second one! I actually had to stop last night as I kept falling asleep in my chair. Not smart when you've got sharp tools in your hands. Before I began falling asleep, I actually cut paper to begin on another project that may bring me in some extra dough (yeah, if I can finish a sample to show them, of course).

Stampin' UP! is offering it's annual Sell-A-Bration sale. For each $50 purchase, you can receive a free stamp set (limited edition and not available for sale). It is an awesome deal! Call me if you are interested in learning more. You can also host a workshop and get the hostess benefits PLUS the Sell-A-Bration benefits. I'm currently working on my class schedules (yeah, I'm a little slow) this week and I've got lots of fun and quick ideas just floating around in my head that I'm dying to teach.

So here's your question of the week: What are the 3 most important traits or things you want your children (if you have them) to know about you? If you don't have children then use your best friend, spouse or parents. Too hard of a question? Well, think of it this way -- if you passed away today what would you want them to remember? Go and pull some photos that reflect these traits or things and use it in a scrapbook page(s). Then give yourself some time to think about what you'd like to say in your journaling. Then go back and do your journaling. I'll report on what I did and I'd love you to post your results.

Take care!
The Rubberprincess
