Check out my art studio!

I've been promising to post before and after photos of my art studio! The space was an unused "nook" in the living room. Well, here it is! I forgot to take a photo of the space when it was completely empty, but this photo of the desktop and drawers is what it looked like when we started. Note that there is no color on the walls -- I didn't know what color to paint, so I left it white.

We purchased the desktop and drawers from Home Depot as well as the shelving you'll see in the next photo. The pegboard and wire accessories are also from Home Depot. The Iris carts on the left I purchased about 4 years ago from Costco.
The black stacking trays were also from Costco. The black wire paper rack I purchased from a rubber stamp manufacturing company that was going out of business. The drafting chair was purchased at Office Max.

The magazine holders on the top shelf were purchased from Target and Walmart. The black ink pad holder is from Stampin' UP and the white lazy susan tool holder I purchased from a Pampered Chef party. The small bulletin board bar is from Staples. The paper shredder is from Fred Meyer and the empty embellishment holders that are sitting on the desk are from BiMart. I haven't had time yet to fill those up! I still haven't figured out a storage solution for the huge pile of printed 12x12 paper I have (that is NOT in the photo -- I wanted the area to look as neat as possible!) I am considering purchasing an organizer made by Cropper Hopper.

I haven't quite finished organizing the bottom shelf yet. I have 4 purple striped boxes that I picked up on the clearance from Target. I still have to figure out what I'm going to use them for! The Iris carts hold most of my Stampin' UP! stamp sets as well as embellishments, stickers and other ink pads from other companies. I haven't found a storage solution on how to store my rubber stamps from various companies that I've collected since the early 1980's! I also have to finish labeling the Iris cart drawers and install some lighting. I have an Ott Lite (right hand corner of desk) but I need more light under the shelving. I also have to find a storage solution for my scrapbooks. I suppose I could stack them on the shelves, but not quite sure where they will go yet. When I've got everything completed, I'll post a new photo. The total cost of the art studio? Under $450! It has made my life so much easier and I actually get lots of projects DONE because I know where everything is!
